When he got back from the job and opened the back of the van, a cat hopped out. He had thought he heard something back there, but with the blood pounding in his head it had been hard to sure of anything. When it miaowed again, though, he recognised it. It looked up at him, the moonlight glinting off its collar. He knew it would be stupid to take it back. But her little eyes looked so sad.
