I must have switched the wrong breaker, because the wire gave me a hell of a zap. I shook the finger out and instinctively put it in my mouth, although the pain was already gone. I thought there had been a buzz in my ears, a flash in my vision, a new kind of feeling. I wanted to touch the wire again with my wet finger. I hovered it an inch away, pretending to myself that I might to it by accident. Then I went and switched off the main breaker.
