Management had held a big meeting and determined that the tide needed firmer KPIs. The Head of Monitoring had them drawn up, along with a new data dashboard. They sent it all down to the beach. When the tide came in, the Head of Monitoring got a special award. With regret, they had to make the moon redundant: after all, it wouldn’t be needed to let the tide out again. It is a very complex thing, to manage the tides.
