Daily story, May 12, 2025

Things fell together. Clothes healed at the seams; forgotten friends drifted back into my life. I came to expect it. I looked at shards glittering on the pavement and thought: the glass is already unbroken. Stirred batter separated into flour and eggs and milk. Stones rolled uphill. Everything stopped burning. Even the stars.
