To the best of my knowledge, I am still, to this day, the only man to have driven all the way across Britain, east to west, without stopping. Not for petrol, not for coffee, not even for a wee, and let me tell you, people always laugh when they hear that last bit. They say an Englishman’s home is his castle, well, they came up with that one before they invented cars. People think it’s just a matter of pointing your arse at the rising sun and putting your foot down, well, let me tell you, it’s a bit more complicated than that. There’s route planning, fuel efficiency, time of day even. It took me seven goes but I did it. It was a while a go now and I don’t like to go on about it too much.
